Why go electric with Mazda?
An electric Mazda drives the way a Mazda should: balanced, responsive and comfortable. Going electric adds a few everyday benefits on top.
Lower running costs
Charging at home costs less than filling up with petrol, especially on an off-peak rate or with rooftop solar. With no engine oil to change, there is less routine maintenance too.
Quiet, instant performance
Electric motors deliver their power straight away, so pulling out into traffic or overtaking feels effortless. Without an engine running, the cabin stays calm and quiet.
Zero tailpipe emissions
Fully electric means nothing comes out of the tailpipe. Pair your charging with rooftop solar and you can drive on sunshine.
Charging made simple
Most owners do almost all of their charging at home, so the car is full every morning. For longer trips, DC fast chargers top you up while you grab a coffee.
At home: plug into a standard power point, or install a wall charger for faster overnight charging.
On the road: both models take DC fast charging, going from 30% to 80% in about 15 minutes on a compatible charger2.
From your phone: the Mazda app shows your charge level and range, and lets you schedule charging for off-peak rates or when your solar is producing.

Electric car questions, answered
How long does it take to charge at home?
It depends on how you charge and how empty the battery is. A wall charger refills the battery overnight, while a standard power point is slower and best for topping up. Most owners just plug in when they get home, like charging a phone.
How far can I drive on a full charge?
Up to 560km (WLTP) in the Mazda 6e and up to 484km (WLTP) in the CX-6e GT1. Real-world range depends on speed, temperature, air-conditioning use and load, but it covers the average week of local driving with plenty to spare.
Can an electric Mazda tow?
Yes. Both the 6e and the CX-6e are rated to tow up to 1,500kg braked3, enough for a box trailer, a small camper or a bike rack.
Who services an electric Mazda?
We do. Our service team looks after electric Mazdas, and there is less to service than a petrol car. Book a service online.
Can I test drive both models?
Ask us about test driving the 6e and CX-6e. Book a test drive and we will arrange the one you want.
1 Range achieved under test conditions using the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Testing Procedure (WLTP). Actual driving range varies with accessories fitted, battery age and condition, climate, driving style, use of heating and cooling, traffic conditions and vehicle load.
2 Charging time varies with charger capacity, battery temperature, ambient temperature and other factors. Approximately 15 minutes from 30% to 80% on a 194kW DC fast charger.
3 When fitted with a Mazda Genuine towing kit. Subject to State and Territory regulations.
